Finite Element modeling of force amplification at the spindle due to a tire's cavity mode: experimental verification

چکیده
Reduction of tire-road noise is an important issue when developing luxury cars and electric vehicles. In this context, the air-cavity mode source spindle forces transmitted to suspension that then increase interior levels. When a tire rotates, cavity near 200 Hz splits into two adjacent modes due Doppler effect deformation. That split can lead increased levels both longitudinal vertical at since acoustic each contribute rotates. Thus, it develop tools identify contributions force. A FE simulation force for steady-state rolling has been verified by comparison with laboratory test results obtained using wheel-force transducer mounted on Purdue's Tire Pavement Test Apparatus. It was observed frequency expands as rotation speed increases aligned odd-numbered circumferential structural mode. By correlated model, parametric studies have carried out focused minimizing Hz.

A New Restructured Shaded Pole Induction Motor- 3D Finite Element Analysis and Experimental Verification
Shaded pole induction motors, despite the simplicity and low cost, are difficult to analyze particularly in the equivalent circuit methods, due to the asymmetric structure, saturation, harmonics, inaccurate estimation of leakage inductances and skew. Hence, 3D numerical methods could be very useful in the design and optimization stage. This paper presents the 3D transient finite element analysi...
متن کاملContact stiffness of finite size subsurface defects for atomic force microscopy: Three-dimensional finite element modeling and experimental verification
We describe a three-dimensional 3D finite element analysis model of the contact between an atomic force microscopy AFM tip and a substrate with finite size subsurface structures. The model can simulate the contact stiffness measured by a scanning AFM tip on the surface of a sample with buried nanoscale structures. In addition to the analytical verification and convergence analysis, we present t...
متن کاملA boundary element/finite difference analysis of subsidence phenomenon due to underground structures
Analysis of the stresses, displacements, and horizontal strains of the ground subsidence due to underground excavation in rocks can be accomplished by means of a hybridized higher order indirect boundary element/finite difference (BE/FD) formulation. A semi-infinite displacement discontinuity field is discretized (numerically) using the cubic displacement discontinuity elements (i.e. each highe...
متن کاملModeling the evolution of cells outgrowth due to the force exerted by actins
Motility and membrane deformation are crucial to motile cells. Therefore formation of protrusion in the membrane has been the subject of various studies. The stable shape of the membrane and also its movements are controlled by the forces exerted by actin filaments. In order to study the protrusion behavior, we represented a toy model based on actin filaments polar characteristic and elastic ch...

Metal forming processes, compared with machining ones, reduce production steps and increase manufacturing speed in addition to saving raw material. In this paper, forming process of column of a steering mechanism is investigated by finite element analyses and experimental tests; and optimum die design parameters are found. Forming process parameters including die opening angle, bearing length, ...
